Four Geneva School of Boerne high school artists placed in the top 25 of almost 600 entries, winning two of 12 categories at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Student Western Art Contest where entries were received from all over Texas. Geneva students have won scholarship money every year since 2015 under the instruction of art teacher Cathy Lester.
This year, sophomore Siena Svendsen won “Best in Show” and placed first in the watercolor category with her painting “A Girl and her Cow,” earning two scholarships. Senior Hailey Kirchner placed first in the 2D mixed media category for her painting and earned a scholarship as well. Juniors Natalie Hudson and Sofí Treviño were in the top 25 of each of their categories and were awarded blue ribbons. Second place ribbons went to junior Chloe Caulfield, senior Alex Haranek and sophomore Megan Luffy.
