What is the most influential book you have read besides the Bible? Why?
Silence is the most influential book I have read at Geneva. The struggle of the three church fathers on their trip to Japan to see Father Ferreira speaks mountains to me on the true struggle of faith.
What is your favorite or funniest moment at Geneva?
The one I remember the best was in seventh grade when Mr. Jones gathered the Logic School seventh grade to tell us not to go running around in the small streams formed by the rain. I don’t remember who, but someone just took off and ran straight into the nearby stream of water!
What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
When I leave Geneva, I will miss the kindness of the student population as a whole and how welcoming they are to new students. It’s a part of Geneva I hope never changes even after I’ve left.
Who influenced you most while at Geneva? How?
Mr. Naiser influenced me the most while at Geneva. I was able to come to him with anything regarding my faith and talk to him about anything. He has been a real religious influence on me at my time at Geneva.
What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
Being a Geneva student means being a helpful person, a kind person and a disciple of Christ. It means being someone who makes a difference; to really embody the honor code while also finding joy in their work.
How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
I would encourage a Geneva kindergartner to always keep friends close and Christianity closer. The best advice I could give is to always seek help when they need it, whether it be from teachers, friends or God. Things will always get harder before they get better, and it’s important to just stick to whatever you believe.
What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
I hope the teachers’ kindness and eagerness to help students at Geneva never changes. It’s really great that the teachers are so willing to be helpful and that so many of them are able to be approached and talked to.
