Geneva School of Boerne is pleased to announce that Trent Nesmith has been named Athletic Director. Nesmith stood in the gap as the Interim Athletic Director since June 2023 as the school searched for a permanent Athletic Director to lead the Geneva Athletics Department.

Geneva high school students compete in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools at the 4A classification in cross country, football, volleyball, cheer, basketball, soccer, swimming, baseball, softball, golf, tennis and track. Students in seventh and eighth grades compete in a number of sports teams through the Independent Schools Athletic League of San Antonio.

“Having Coach Nesmith on our campus has made it clear that he is deeply invested in our community and our community has known and appreciated that investment. He loves the students; he loves athletics and he loves Christ. He wants Geneva to be everything that it can be, and we are deeply grateful,” Head of School Leslie Moeller said.

Nesmith joined Geneva soon after his family moved to Boerne in 2022. He previously served as the Dean of Students and Athletic Director at a private prep school called Wichita Collegiate School in Wichita, Kansas for 18 years where he also coached baseball, football and basketball.

Nesmith is a graduate of Butler College and earned continuing education credits from the University of Kansas with a major in Exercise Science. He has a passion for leadership and accountability training, mentoring, coaching, team building and business administration. Nesmith and his wife Malissa have been married for 30 years and have three adult children who have all graduated from the University of Kansas: Cayden, Caleb and wife Erin, and Canon.

“I am extremely grateful and excited to be the Athletic Director for Geneva School of Boerne. I have been blessed by God to be a part of a community with amazing leaders, faculty, parents, staff and students. I want to thank Head of School Mrs. Leslie Moeller for the opportunity to lead the Geneva Athletic Department. I look forward to continuing in partnership with the families and students in cultivating wisdom and virtue within each athletic program Geneva has to offer,” Nesmith said.
