What is the most influential book you have read besides the Bible? Why?
The Book Thief is the most influential book I’ve read. It was a book that takes you through so many stages of life and so many emotions. It follows a young girl living in Germany during World War 2. Her love for words, reading, and writing captivated me as well as the interesting narrator, who is death. The narrator made this story about life even more beautiful and made me think more about what makes life beautiful and who ultimately gives beauty to life.

What is your favorite or funniest moment at Geneva?
There are so many. The funniest was probably when Grace Detterick had weird yogurt-covered marshmallows in her lunch, and they looked like eggs so we decided to put them in a plant pot and create a fake nest around them (we were really bored… it was the 4th quarter). And right as I was saying “We need more sticks” Mr. Arispe said from directly behind me “What are you guys doing?” And we couldn’t tell him because we couldn’t stop laughing. And he just watched us make a fake nest and walked away. The next day the “eggs” were gone…… no idea what happened to them.

What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
I will miss making so many funny memories. And I will miss soccer, the girls soccer team is so much fun and I’ve learned so much while being on the team, which is truly a privilege.

Who influenced you most while at Geneva? How?
Mrs. Ward! She does so much for us, and she always seems to have a smile on her face. I’ve had so many funny conversations with her as well as good spiritual conversations, and I really enjoyed getting to know her more on the Europe trip.

What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
Being a Geneva student means not only having a great education but also being able to learn with teachers and students who trust in the Lord. This makes so much of a difference when learning. God has given us so many wonderful things in the world and to be able to learn about them through a Christian worldview for His glory is a privilege.

How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
I would encourage them by telling them to always do everything for God’s glory, try their best, and make fun memories! You may not always remember who all the Greek gods are but memories last forever.

What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
I hope the deep conversations in class always remain, the passion in students to learn, and the focus to always remain on Christ. These things are so valued at Geneva that I hope every student that attends Geneva can say the same.
