Senior Spotlight

What is the most influential book you have read besides the Bible? Why?
The most influential book I’ve read is probably Dante’s Inferno in Mr. Poole’s class, our sophomore year. The book sparked a lot of conversations about faith, heaven and hell. We had a lot of meaningful discussions of the book that changed my perspective on these topics. I loved asking questions and discussing the themes covered in the book.

What is your favorite or funniest moment at Geneva?
My favorite moment at Geneva was probably during the Europe trip when we jumped in the Aegean Sea. It was freezing but all of my friends and I jumped in together. The Europe trip was so fun and I got to experience so much with my friends.

What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
I will definitely miss the teachers who have poured into me over the years. The teachers at Geneva do a great job of building individual relationships with students and caring about them. It will be hard to leave the close community at Geneva.

Who influenced you most while at Geneva? How?
Mr. Odom and Mrs. Davis have been the most influential to me at my time at Geneva. Having Mr. Odom since middle school, he has been a true role model for me. When doing our wilderness trip, Mrs. Davis was a joy, and she has taught me so much over the years.

What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
Being a Geneva student means doing challenging things and working hard. Being a Geneva student is being respectful and understanding the importance of school work.

How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
The hard work is worth it in the end. The education you receive at Geneva isn’t like other schools and is very special. Even though the work may seem like a lot, there are so many fun things to come.

What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
I hope the books we read and opportunities we get stay the same. I love the classical books we get to read and discuss. I also enjoyed the fun things Geneva students get to do that others do not like the Europe trip, field day, EagleFest and more.
