What is the most influential book you have read besides the Bible? Why?
The most influential book I have read besides the Bible is Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis. It helped me more clearly understand why I believe what I believe. It has also more strongly equipped me to defend my faith.
What is your favorite or funniest moment at Geneva?
I loved the whole Europe trip. It was the best experience I had at Geneva because I got to see all the places I had learned about since Grammar School, and I got to do it with my lifelong friends. I also grew close friendships with people who I didn’t usually hang out with.
What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
I will miss the sports and the teachers the most. We are blessed to have coaches and teachers who care about us more than just being an athlete or a student, which is not the case at most other schools. The camaraderie and friendships I built through sports will never be quite the same for the rest of my life.
Who influenced you most while at Geneva? How?
The two most influential people during my time at Geneva have been Mr. Odom and Coach Johnson. They both helped me grow in my faith, knowledge and life skills in general. I formed lifelong friendships with both of these men and so many other teachers.
What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
To me, being a Geneva student is someone who is well-trained to defend their faith and what they believe. They know how to remain respectful while still delivering winsome arguments. A Geneva student looks out for others before themselves.
How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
I would encourage them to enjoy every second of their time here, because it’s over before you know it, and you’ll wish that you embraced it more when it’s all done.
What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
I hope the culture of caring teachers never changes. I believe that is one of the main things that makes Geneva so special. Without the personal care of the teachers, Geneva would not be what it is today.
