What is the most influential book you have read besides the Bible? Why?
Last spring in Mr. Shelton’s worldview class we read Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, and I often found myself reflecting on the dystopian society. What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
I will seriously miss the teachers. Their consistent love for everyone around them reminds me of the love I aspire to spread. Their desire for me to succeed has never failed to motivate me when I feel uncertain in the way of life’s challenges. I am so grateful for our teachers.
Who has influenced you most while at Geneva, How?
One of my first classes at Geneva was with Mr. Naiser. After he said an individual “I love you” to each student on the first day of school I thought to myself, “this guy is something!” I felt the love of Christ through him and became completely inspired to spread that love. Mr. Naiser is fearless in the best way possible and an amazing example of what it looks like to live a life full of love.
What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
As a Geneva student I feel fully equipped. I have gained a wealth of knowledge and an amazing community; it doesn’t get much better. As I prepare to leave Geneva, I am excited to ask more questions and learn as much as I can.
How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
I would encourage a Geneva kindergartner by reminding them of the love that surrounds them. Also, to not be afraid of mistakes because they lead to growth and wisdom; mistakes really make you better. And try your best always, it will pay off.
What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
I hope Geneva’s spirit of learning, community, and wisdom never changes. It is an atmosphere that inspires the love of knowledge, but more importantly loving each other. And I hope Adventure Time always plays during the sci-fi club meetings.
