The Geneva School of Boerne Fine Arts Department recently finished its production of Murder on the Orient Express. The play was based on the book by the same title written by Agatha Christie and was adapted for the stage by Ken Ludwig who has had six productions on Broadway and eight in London’s West End.
Geneva’s production included 22 students including cast, crew and production who worked together to make the play possible. Auditions were held in early January and rehearsals began soon after. All roles were played by Rhetoric School students who portrayed the rich cast of characters.
The role of Hercule Poirot was played by junior Jonathan Taylor and junior Reid Wilson played Monsieur Bauc. Other key roles were performed by sophomore Catalina Lozada (Mary Debenham), freshman Jack Ranhofer (Hector McQueen), freshman Christopher Siller (Michel the Conductor), sophomore Rosie Troyer (Princess Dragomiroff), sophomore Gaby Medrano (Greta Ohlsson), senior Rachel Troyer (Countess Andrenyi), senior Victoria Allen (Helen Hubbard), freshman Samuel McPhail (Colonel Arbuthnot), freshman Mikhail Boespflug (Samuel Ratchett) and junior Megan Luffy (Head Waitress).
The production was directed by Jesse Brown with a leadership team including Fine Arts Director Ben Vis, Audio Engineer Luis Arizpe, Costume Director Holly Williams, Artistic Director Megan Luffy and Fine Arts Executive Assistant Becca Kuhlmeier. “The students in this production have put in so much work and have all played their parts so well. I am so proud of them all; their dedication, skill and love for the craft is so evident. I can’t wait to see wh at we can do next!” Brown said.
