Senior Spotlight

What is the most influential book you have read besides the Bible? Why?
The most influential book I read at Geneva was The Great Gatsby. It showed how money and worldly riches are the root of all evil and how people with these riches feel alone and deep down are not happy.

What is your favorite or funniest moment at Geneva?
My funniest moment at Geneva was when Stephen threw a towel at Austin Hodo after he had gotten out of the shower, and he slipped and fell and made a slapping noise on the wet floor. (He was ok!)

What will you miss most when you leave Geneva?
I will miss seeing my friends on a daily basis. I am also going to miss the friends I have made in the past year or so.

Who influenced you most while at Geneva? How?
Dr. Bracy influenced me the most. I loved how he always found joy in the simplest of things and reminded me that no matter how hard things get, there is always joy if I am just willing to find it.

What does being a Geneva student mean to you?
Being a Geneva student means being slow to judge but quick to comfort someone or give advice to them. I think we are taught fairly well that everyone works differently spiritually and mentally, and it is not the right thing to judge people.

How would you encourage a Geneva kindergartner to persevere in school?
I would encourage a kindergartner to stay on top of their work and do not let it pile up especially if they struggle with staying organized like I did. I would also say paying attention in class plays a big factor in success.

What about Geneva do you hope never changes?
I hope Geneva never changes that seniors can be exempt from finals. I also hope that Geneva never changes anything about off periods.
