Geneva held its annual spelling bee for students in sixth through eighth grades on Monday, December 10. Sixth grade student Luke Brunsvold was crowned the Geneva Logic School Spelling Bee Champion. With the win, Brunsvold earns the right to represent Geneva School at the 66th Annual San Antonio Express-News Regional Spelling Bee on March 17. Seventh grade student Will Muck (last year’s champion) finished as runner-up and sixth-grader Piper Pruitt earned third place in Geneva’s Spelling Bee.
The Geneva Spelling Bee finalists were: Ethan Brunsvold, Luke Brunsvold, Beya Chase, Hadley Crafton, Sam Cress, Avery Eggerss, Ford Elizondo, Sofia Griffey, Will Muck, Piper Pruitt, Gage Secor, Samuel Siller and Naiya Swientek. These students competed in preliminary rounds to qualify for the final round of competition which determined the champion.
“The Lord spoke the universe into existence. The study of all aspects of language honors God. These students have honored Him with the time they have spent preparing for the Bee. I am so proud of each one of them.” Logic School humanities teacher Mary Clifford said.
