Geneva School of Boerne is a classical and Christian 12-K private school in the Texas Hill Country that develops servants, scholars, athletes and artists equipped to do hard things to the glory of Jesus Christ.
Geneva School of Boerne is pleased to announce that Matt Donnowitz was hired over the summer as the new Rhetoric School Headmaster to provide leadership to faculty and students in Geneva’s high school. He replaces Dirk Russell who served Geneva for almost 20 years most recently as the Rhetoric School Headmaster and as a teacher prior to that.Donnowitz left a similar-sized K-12 classical and Christian school called Hill Country Christian School of Austin where he served as Head of School. Prior to that role, Donnowitz served as Upper School Principal for several years after being a Bible and history teacher in the upper grades.
Donnowitz has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Organizational Leadership and Supervision and a Minor in History from Purdue University. He earned his Master of Arts in Religion—Biblical Studies at Trinity School for Ministry and has completed coursework toward a Doctorate in Education in Educational Leadership at Concordia University in Austin.
Interim Head of School Debbie Ledoux said, “We are excited that Matt has joined our Geneva leadership team. He is humble, kind, intelligent and very approachable. He believes in the importance of building a team and investing in his people. We believe that Matt has the ideal skill set to take our Rhetoric School to a new height as he builds camaraderie with faculty, staff, parents and students, and establishes programs and processes that will ensure success.”
When asked about coming to Geneva, Donnowitz said, “I’m so grateful to join the faculty and staff of Geneva School of Boerne, a school I have admired and respected for years through my involvement in the Society for Classical Learning organization. My family and I have joy in our hearts as we consider the Lord’s providence that has led us here. We can’t wait to make new friends over some good meals and conversations, pour our lives into the lives of students, and become part of the incredible Geneva community!”
