Geneva School of Boerne eighth-grade students were recognized with awards from the Daughters of the American Revolution Citizenship Essay Contest. Zoe Briggs (right) was the first-place winner and Sadie Muck (left) received honorable mention honors. Geneva eighth graders participate in this contest through their Civics class taught by Mrs. Stephanie Wilson each year.
Students wrote an essay titled “The Five Qualities of Good Citizenship” intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. Participating students are required to write an essay on the five points of citizenship: honor, service, courage, leadership and patriotism.
Kendall County DAR representative Mrs. Lane Zapotek awarded them a certificate and medal at a recent Geneva Logic School Assembly.
