In accordance with state and county guidelines, Geneva will hold its 2020 Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 23. For the first time, this ceremony will be held outdoors and on campus. The Class of 2020 will have 58 graduates and is Geneva’s tenth graduating class.
The ceremony is by invitation only and is not open to the public in order to adhere to current health and safety protocols. Geneva received permission from county officials, will follow social distancing guidelines, limit guests to five family members per graduate and hold the ceremony outdoors.
“God knew that they would be the right group of seniors to endure what we are going through now, and they have proved it through their buoyant spirit and faithful diligence. They have not given up on their senior year and they are certainly not ending with a whimper,” Geneva Rhetoric School Headmaster Rob Shelton said.
Geneva is a classical and Christian school with 690 students in K-12 which began in 1999 and celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. The school is characterized by five distinctives—it teaches from a Christian worldview, upholds the classical ideals of truth, beauty and goodness, has deeply-invested teachers, fosters a tight-knit, engaged culture and values a commitment to excellence in all things. Geneva challenges students to lead as servants, scholars, athletes and artists.
