Please give a current update on yourself (college/graduation year, major, work/career, family, other interests, service or hobbies).
I am a Senior at Texas Christian University. I’m working on a double majoring in [Film, Television, Digital Media] and Advertising. I am a Young Life Leader and I am paid to lead outdoor adventure trips for the TCU rec center. I spend the rest of my time rock climbing and doing photography.
In what ways did your Geneva education/training prepare you for the work you are doing now?
Geneva taught me how to articulate myself, both in writing and in speaking. It has been an invaluable skill in the work I do.
How would you encourage a Geneva Rhetoric School student to make the most of their Geneva years?
Hang out with Mr. Johnson as much as possible.
Describe Geneva in one word. Explain.
Community- Geneva is a body of Christians that loved and supported me while I was there. Now, even though I graduated and moved to a different city, I still feel a part of that community.
Please share one or two of your Geneva extracurricular activities and then contrast that with one or two of your current non-work activities.
Well I played football and soccer in high school so when I came to college I knew I needed to find some sort of athletic hobby and it ended up being rock climbing.
What are your future career goals and how do you feel prepared for them? How has Geneva been a thread that has connected you to your work now and what you see yourself doing in the future?
I’d like to live on a sailboat, so I guess the Senior trip inspired me to see more of the world.
How were you impacted by your trip last summer? What was something you learned about yourself and God’s world?
All of God creation points back to Him. It was incredible to spend time in this awe inspiring environment and realize that it is merely a fraction of His glory.
Romans 1:20 (NIV) “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
